Millionaires raked in $80 million from jobless benefits.

Means testing, anyone?

And we're talking about households with adjusted annual gross income of more than $1 million, not net-asset millionaires.  I put the over/under at 1,000 families.  I wasn't even close.  Yet Congress will do nothing to fix the problem because Democrats do not want to see unemployment insurance means tested.  Pelosi warns of a means-testing slippery slope as we drift closer to fiscal oblivion.

Almost 3,200 households -- about 20 percent of them from New York -- that reported adjusted gross income of more than $1 million received jobless-insurance payments averaging $12,600 in 2010, the latest year for which figures are available, according to IRS data compiled by Bloomberg.  Those payments outpaced the total incomes for about 25 million U.S. households.

The final sentence is without question the most shocking part of the story.

Millionaires paid into the system, they also will be able to receive SS & Medicare & disability benefits if need be, so what's the problem ?????

Crime is rampant today, and many people get wealthy for all the wrong reasons. This story illustrates that the parable of a rich man stealing candy from a baby exists in fact. Most of my siblings all make good money, yet they are complete liars and thieves, who will murder someone if they could get away with it, and their brood are even worse.

When animals in Nature have comfortable food and shelter, they slow down their hunting and foraging. Sure, they may wish to spread their DNA as much as possible, but that is good because the physically stronger male is the one who succeeds. Perhaps this is why most of their species last for many millions of years, before encountering a Natural disaster (for them) that results in extinction.

In so called Human society, the species never seems to be able to accumulate enough. Women breed with men who are not physically superior, but often are seduced through a sequence of lies, their own greed, and ego driven peer pressure. The Human species will most likely not last until the year 2100.
