The first storm of the Atlantic hurricane season may enter the Gulf of Mexico as soon as next week, possibly disrupting BP Plc’s efforts to clean up the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

A system of thunderstorms in the Caribbean Sea is moving west-northwest toward the Gulf at 10 miles (16 kilometers) per hour, bringing rainfall to parts of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in its latest update at 8 p.m. local time yesterday.

The gross negligence continues....

I have fast, simple low-cost solution for the oil leak. So I called the BP hotline to ask two simple questions:

1) How high above the sea floor is the broken pipe?

and

2) What is the temperature down there?

THEY COULDN'T ANSWER EITHER QUESTION!!!

Is anyone really trying to stop this leak?

I will keep DB informed of any developments...

mark...i'm sure you've checked but the oil drum might have the info you're looking for...

I couldn't find the info on how high above the sea floor the break is. In some of the pictures, it looks very close (less than 10 ft.), but I'd like to verify that info. I still can't believe the BP hotline people don't have that at their fingertips.

Greece will eventually default on its debt because the country is highly indebted and the euro zone's approach towards saving it is the wrong one, Carl Weinberg, chief economist at High Frequency Economics, told CNBC Friday.

A restructuring of Greek debt could happen as soon as August, when the Balkan country is due to receive another tranche of funds from its lending agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union, according to Weinberg.

I posted my solution for the oil leak, but don't expect anything to come from it. These monsters don't want that leak stopped, I'm sure of it after today. Good luck, all.

Why solve a problem when you can milk it for months, maybe years?

I'm pretty sure the logic is sound here, DB. The only real challenge is deciding how much overkill is too much.

After the day I had yesterday, I will swear to you on a stack of Bibles:

THEY DON'T WANT THAT LEAK STOPPED!!!!

I'm not kiddong. It's twisted beyond my wildest dreams.

Not till the "agenda" is met, Mark. Create the "problem", to make their "solution more palatable".
