Of course, from what I've read, the concern isn't inserts, it's tungsten filings mixed in with the gold. Tungsten's density is almost identical to that of gold.

Plus nothing GE makes is worth a shit.

Gold is diamagnetic, while Tungsten is paramagnetic. It would seem to me that that would be a better way to identify the presence of Tungsten, but honestly, I think you need to run more that one kind of test.

You be wanting to be talkin to Bill an Hillery on how that "T Stuff" got in all them Gold Bars. And ya'll thought they stoped with taking all the China and SliverwhAre, when they left the "Big Haus".........

Lot of info around 4yrs ago going around. Then it got hush'ed up...
