Bizarre that it will be the DEM convention where all the shit goes down and not the GOP.

I have mixed emotions about Bernie. On the one hand, he's the only presidential candidate who not only opposed the TARP bailout, but voted against it. Even Trump took the "we-gotta-do-it" bait, which this website more than any other has exposed as trillion-dollar horseshit.

On the other hand, he totally rolled over on Ron Paul with a last-minute and fatal no-vote on the audit-the-Fed bill. I just can't vote for someone who turns into jello when the pressure is on. Fuck that.

Plus, as much as he complains about Wall Street, going so far as to say--correctly--that fraud is its business model, Bernie is strangely silent on criminal prosecutions. Some people say that's just because the statute of limitations for the 2006-08 frauds ran, but that doesn't explain Bernie's silence about later fraud-based criminal cases like the conspiracies to fix LIBOR rates and foreign exchange markets. Hell, these crimes are spelled out on the DOJ's website, but no one at any TBTF bank is even being charged. Wtf?

I do greatly admire Sanders' take-it-to-the-mat approach with Hillary in the primary. He's making her look so weak. His political label doesn't bother me in the slightest. Those went out the window for good on October 3, 2008--when 74 members of the Senate registered with the Welfare for Criminally Retarded Gamblers Party.

I like Bernie because he would blow up Washington just like Trump, but they both have serious faults as well as serious positives. But in a head to head I'll take the business guy who has never held office vs. the the revolutionary who got kicked out of a 1970s commune because he wouldn't do his share of the work.

I remember the days surrounding the TARP bailout like they were yesterday. I'd been reading financial blogs nonstop for months trying to figure out what the hell was going on with all these acronyms like CDS, MBS, CDO, etc. I don't think this site was up yet in '08 [?].

When the bailout happened, I remember lots of commenters being just totally lost without their Left-Right compasses. Their efforts to make the bailout a Republican-Democrat issue were like watching grown men and women trying their damnedest to make the square peg fit into the round hole.

The Left-Right edifice had been blown to bits, into dust that got sucked up into the hurricane.
