Detroit Mayor: 'We Are In An Era Of Entitlement...'

Nice feature broadcast this week on CNN.  Detroit Mayor Dave Bing sits in the Red Chair to discuss the past, present and future of the Motor City (Nov. 28, 2012).  Three minutes.

"I have the second hardest job in the country.  The most difficult part is fighting the entitlement of city employees."

50 years of Democratic rule has ruined Detroit - Obama and the other D's are doing their best to finish off the rest of America and O doesn't have any problems screwing seniors to do it...

Why Obama is pushing for stimulus in 'fiscal cliff' deal
President Obama's opening offer in 'fiscal cliff' talks includes $255 billion in stimulus spending

snip

How about a little government economic stimulus?

That may sound incongruous considering the budget deficit and the push from Republicans to cut government spending.
But President Obama’s first offer to avoid going over the "fiscal cliff" holds out the hope of at least some stimulus. This would include extending the 2 percentage point Social Security payroll tax cut, boosting a tax incentive to businesses, establishing a $50 billion bank for long-term infrastructure projects, and extending unemployment benefits.

The people who drove Detroit into the scrap heap were not democrats. They were milking the automotive industry without care of what happens when you get your ass beat for failing to note the other teams in the league. Sucking instead of pushing broom 16 hours a day like Grandpapa-san Honda when he became too blind to see to sketch. America had it all and inferior money-pit automobiles and the stupidity of inflicting NAFTA on the population is to blame. Fraud at the trough by many on the street and in D.C. makes for excessive financial infection. Damn that Dr. Paul. He should have stayed on. Detroit STILL is the geographical and transportation hub of the country and we need HONEST entrepreneurs and not these crooked 'financial instrument' son of a bitch pieces of slugbait to survive. Lets get out there and INVENT.

The biggest entitlement goes to the international bankers and their international military industrial complex or war contractors. Manufacturing jobs fell to government jobs in 1987 and it has been down hill ever since. Replaced by the Orwellian jobs of bureaucracy which is akin to a political job. Sadly and unfortunately, the US is no greater or different than any other empire in history and is following the usual path. All brought to you by the elite and their long history of domination and enslavement. There are a handful of countries around the world that are freer for those wish to do business, above board and legally. In the US true economic freedom is now criminal. Try to sell some wholesome raw milk, food that for thousands of years people sought, the ancients used it in relationship to gods as their food, "land of milk and honey" or 'food of the gods', yet in our tyrannical state, you can be jailed for selling this wholesome food if you do not pay off the bureaucrats.

Not sure how you guys can talk about the factors that led to the destruction of Detroit without mentioning decades of Labor AND Management malfeasance at the Big Three. Both sides deserve blame.

To Mr. Mayor..you are entitled to NOTHING. You and your oppressive tax to death state are entitled to NOTHING. Keep going like other oppressive tax states like California and you can see the results for yourself. its time for change and you are in deep need of some enlightenment.

Vince Flynn described Detroit perfectly when he said:

"Detroit is a shining example of what happens when the unions come together with the special interest groups to suck a city dry by driving the tax base out of the city."

DB, The inherent mismanagement of the companies would seem to me to be the larger problem here comparitively speaking. This does not mean that there were criminals at the labor end that created antagonistic atmospheres. The incentives for the corporate honchos to tweak the books, to cash in stock options then post date to the trading high of the stock, the list goes on and on. The workers pensions get shoved off on to the backs of the taxpayer and the CEO gets hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars plus all the perks and bennies as if he were still running the show. Completely obscene.
