DEM ADMITS: 'Talking Points On Benghazi Were FALSE'

SCRUBBED, ABSOLUTELY FALSE

NO EXCUSE FOR IT

Democratic congressman Stephen Lynch admits that Susan Rice used "scrubbed talking points" on Benghazi to deliver "false information" to the American people.

"Well it was scrubbed. It was totally inaccurate. There was no excuse for that. It was false information. And what they tried to do was harmonize that happened in Benghazi with what happened everywhere else across the Middle East, which was totally wrong."

Mike Wallace: How do you explain the fact that that Sunday, UN Ambassador Rice came on this show and 4 other Sunday shows- never mentioned Al Qaeda extremists which had been scrubbed from the talking points- but did mention a reaction to the anti-Islam video which had never been in any of the talking points?

Congressman Lynch: “They certainly weren’t accurate. I don’t know what the process was there. But, absolutely, they were false. They were wrong. There were no protests outside of the Benghazi compound there. This was a deliberate and strategic attack on the consulate there. So any statements that this was sort of like the other protests that we saw in Cairo and other embassies- this was not that type of case. This was a concerted effort. ”

Wallace: “And do you think part of that was- do you think it was scrubbed because of the fact that didn’t fit into President’s narrative that Al Qaeda was on the run?”

Lynch: “Well I, yeah, I think it was a victory of ‘hope over reality’ to be honest with you. They were hoping this wasn’t the case.”

Unfortunately, Congressman Lynch lost the special election democratic primary here in MA a week ago. I like his views. Instead, Ed Markey, who is backed by the global warming/carbon tax/banking cult won.

SUMMARY OF TODAY'S HEARING

A State Department official told Congress that his plea for troops to help defend the besieged U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, was rejected and that he knew all along that terrorists were behind the attacks.

Gregory Hicks, the second-ranking U.S. diplomat in Libya at the time of the attack, said he was told special forces troops that wanted to board a Libyan cargo plane heading to Benghazi were ordered not to go during the attacks on Sept. 11, 2012, that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Stephen Lynch has Benghazi confused with Iraq & WMD?

"Ranking Member Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) questioned that statement, asking Hicks whether he disagreed with Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Gen Martin Dempsey’s assessment that no air assets were in range the night of the attack. Hicks didn’t disagree, saying he was “speaking from [his] perspective” and what “veteran Libyan revolutionaries” told him, rather than Pentagon assessments."

Wonder if Hicks meant that he makes this shit up as he goes along?

TR

And Bush should have been impeached over his WMD failure just as Obama should be impeached over this.

A Benghazi Bombshell

http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/marc-thiessen-a-benghazi-bombshell/2013/05/06/d7a4e3fe-b651-11e2-92f3-f291801936b8_story.html

In addition to getting to the bottom of what the administration knew about Benghazi, and when they knew it, Congress needs get to the bottom of the coverup, which is apparently ongoing. Victoria Toensing, a lawyer for one of the whistleblowers, said they have been threatened with career-ending reprisals if they furnish new information about the Benghazi attacks to Congress. Who threatened them? What were they told would happen to them? And who else was pressured not to testify?

White House spokesman Jay Carney last week tried to dismiss Benghazi as something that “happened a long time ago.” With all respect, the attack took place just eight months ago. To the families who woke up this morning without sons and husbands and fathers by their side, it does not feel like “a long time ago.”

this is an embassy parked in the middle of a third world ghetto. Its not like 20 Saudi Arabians crashed 4 commercial airlines into some buildings within the borders of the continental U.S. killing thousands all after having ample warning. this whole thing is a blip on the radar and the price we pay for meddling in other countries affairs. Libya must need our help protecting "our" oil

This story is about the cover-up after the attack. In fact all the stories are about the cover-up. Nowhere have I spent time writing about the attack, just the lies that followed.
