Danny Devito: Your Right To Know - Vote Yes On Prop 37
'What makes you think you have the right to know?'
Click here to learn more about Prop 37, California's ballot initiative to require labeling of genetically engineered foods.
In November, Californians will vote on Prop 37 requiring that GE foods be labeled. Just as labels list fat, sodium and sugar, labels should tell the buyer whether or not the product includes genetically engineered ingredients (GMOs). Unfortunately, major corporations like Monsanto are pouring billions of dollars into this election in order to confuse voters, and protect their bottom line.

WAIT, Thats what they planed for us. How in Hell do YOU think the goverment got the little Green Waffers............Soylent Green............Google it, its next on the Obama List. I hope he eats my stinky ass hole, and cant get the taste out of his mouth..............?
And we have been on a slippery slope ever since.
Right wing radio and writers plus lots of out of state $$$ for advertising convince a small majority of the population that labeling would be really, really expensive (your food costs will bouble!) and not to mention really, really difficult (gosh, how can a maker of a processed food know if the ingredients they buy and use to make that processed food are gmo or not?) so it really isn't fair to ask for labeling.
Finally we were told that GMO foods are exactly the same in a human or animal's body as non-gmo foods, so really this is much to do about nothing.
I'd bet the opposition is using a very similar campaign in California.
Hopefully the voters there are better educated and vote yes. Having this as a law in California will allow other states to get similar legislation on the ballot. Maybe we Oregonians can try again.
