Not that it should matter to anyone, but I was raised in the Greek Orthodox church and have been an atheist since since my undergraduate days.  I respect the right of every individual to make his/her own decisions about faith and I honor those decisions.  We are all free to make whatever choices serve our lives best, and that alone is worthy of celebration.  Freedom of religion should remain sacrosanct.

ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast—West Africa's central bank has cut off Laurent Gbagbo's access to state funds, stepping up pressure on the man who refuses to concede defeat amid postelection violence that has killed at least 173 people and prompted fears of civil war.

Obama doing business with Iran...yes...Obama has turned us into France.

Washington • The Treasury Department has granted nearly 10,000 special licenses to American companies over the past decade so they could sell some types of products in Iran and other countries the U.S. considers terrorist sponsors, The New York Times reported Thursday.

If you are nice to Obama, he will give you special favors in pay to play Obama Administration.

The Treasury Department allowed U.S. firms to close about 10,000 deals in the past decade to sell to Iran under an exception for humanitarian aid. U.S. firms have exported about $1.7 billion in goods to Iran in the past decade, according to government figures.

American companies that have used the "agricultural humanitarian" exception to do business in Iran for the last ten years include Kraft Foods, Pepsi, Bank of America, Citigroup, American Pulp & Paper Corp. and Hercules USA Inc. Products sold to the blacklisted countries under the loophole in the law include cigarettes, popcorn, chewing gum, Louisiana hot sauce and body-building supplements, In one case, an American company bid on a pipeline project with permission of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control to help Iran sell natural gas to Europe.

I think the banks were classified as salad greens, and the body-building supplements as nutritional supplements.

Congress approved the humanitarian exception in 2000 that exempts agricultural and medical supplies from the sanctions. The Treasury Department, under pressure from industry lobbyists, interpreted the law more broadly than Congress intended.

Who was controlling Congress in 2000 anyway?

Any product you want to sell to a blacklisted country is just one campaign contribution away from reality...

We have been doing this at least since WWII, Hitler even gave Ford a medal, yet Senator Prescott Bush was convicted of aiding the enemy.

Both parties are proudly responsible Thanks for Nothing.

Santa is gone now Black Pete. Having triumphed over evil, it was said that on Saint Nicholas Eve, the devil was shackled and made into Saint Nicholas's slave.

Does Santa let you go on election day?

"President Obama usually refrains from going to church out of concern that his presence and the exhaustive security precautions required before and during the worship could prove disruptive for other congregants."

What about those concerns when he goes golfing? God help us.
