An oldie, but a goodie. Whalen talks about Geithner being on the phone all the time with Bob Rubin. What do they talk about?

"All I've seen from Tim Geithner, so far, is his ability to write checks against the public credit[.]"

Another gem from this interview. On restructuring the banks:

"... the investors are going to have to take a loss. It's already happened. It's just a question of when, politically, we have the courage and honesty to recognize what's already occurred."

That's poetry, my friends. "Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty" ("Ode on a Grecian Urn").

Instead of actually doing something about the way the banks own the U.S. government, what do you think Banks Obama does? Yep, that's right. He goes out and makes a speech about it. Worthless.

DB, maybe you've got this one coming down the pipe (has it already been posted and I missed it?), but here's Dylan having fun with the old "house was on fire" analogy. (With Matt Taibbi)

"Mama Mia! Berlusconi Gets Decked by One of the Serfs"

That just raised the ante on throwing shoes at government leaders by a mile. Whoever wants to dis Obama now will HAVE to stick an IED up his ass and press BOOM! in order to top that.
