Celebrate Good Times: Congressman Patrick Kennedy Will Not Seek Re-Election (VIDEO)
Outstanding news for a Friday. Son of the late Edward 'Ted' Kennedy, Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy announced yesterday that he will not run for re-election.
Kennedy has been in Congress for 8 terms (16 years) and is one of the many incumbents from both sides who deserves a ticket home from Washington this Fall. Kennedy has been in and out of rehab for a decade fighting addictions to alcohol and pills, and crashed his Ford Mustang into a barricade on Pennsylvania Avenue at 4 am one night in 2006 while driving without lights and attempting to evade police. He was visibly drunk at the scene but was not tested, charged or arrested by Capitol Hill police who instead gave the Congressman a ride home.
Ever-discriminating, Rhode Island voters then re-elected Kennedy to an 7th term a few months later.
And for younger readers who don't know that about the character of Patrick's father, please take a moment to read about Chappaquiddick and Edward Kennedy's role in the death of his date Mary Jo Kopechne.
And before the partisan hacks come out of the closet attacking this story, I called Gingrich a hypocritical jackass yesterday in a headline. We rip both sides here with special attention to the false and lying. And there is no more false American family than the Kennedys, except for perhaps the Bushes. So both get special attention for their blatant misdeeds and abuses of public power.

Don't worry; I wished the EXACT same thing for your dad too.
It was announced yesterday that Ben Quayle, son of the former vice-president, will be running for congress. We here, at this glorious moment in the history of our great nation, are proud and privileged to bear witness to the birth of the Quayle family political dynasty.
I need a drink.
