Caught On Tape: Obama's Hypocrisy On Energy Consumption & The 2012 DNC Convention

Clip runs 30 seconds.

The people in charge of the upcoming DNC convention to be held in Charlotte, NC, stipulate in their contract that the convention center not be allowed to get above 72 degrees.  Anyone who has lived in the South knows that the summer heat can be brutal, but then there's this from Obama....

  • "We can't...keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times."

Whatever your views about global warming and air conditioning, this serves as just one more reminder that there shall be rules for people like you and me --  and an entirely different set of rules for the politicians.

China Consolidates Grip on Rare Earths

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/China-Consolidates-Grip-on-nytimes-2650144197.html?x=0&.v=1

[snip]

China produces nearly 95 percent of the world’s rare earth materials, and it is taking the steps to improve pollution controls in a notoriously toxic mining and processing industry. But the moves also have potential international trade implications and have started yet another round of price increases for rare earths, which are vital for green-energy products including giant wind turbines, hybrid gasoline-electric cars and compact fluorescent bulbs.

"China Consolidates Grip on Rare Earths"

Not only that John, but while we have been playing banker bailout bingo, China has quitely been buying up mineral and agricultural rights globally.

it is a couple of pages long but see who's name shows up on the last page. I have found more specific material but this is it in a nutshell.

Interesting John, I worked in the Mojave Desert once and they do tend to take their critters seriously. Interesting that they hit them with the fine on the turtle when they could not prove the death was caused by them. We had to do a class on the endangered wildlife while working there, some of them critters are a bit dangerous like the Mojave Green.

Seems certain powers that be will do anything to keep us dependent on others...
