Bailout B-52: Should Bernanke Be Re-Appointed? (Clip)

Discussing whether Bernanke should be reappointed as Fed chairman, with Alfred Broaddus, former Richmond Federal Reserve president; Stephen Moore, Wall Street Journal Editorial Board; and David Min, Center for American Progress.

Pay attention to Stephen Moore in this clip.  He tells the truth about Bernanke.

I don't know alot about Stephen Moore, but every time he's on the box I find myself agreeing with him. I'm glad he made a subtle plug for HR 1207, and I'm glad he told that kid (Min?) that Bernanke is primarily responsible for blowing the real estate and stock bubble in the first place. Like we were talking about the other night, everything BB has done for the last few months has been CYA and damage control for the stupid decisions he and Greenspan made for the last decade (or two).

I'll count Stephen Moore among the "adults" in this whole debacle. It's amazing what fucking children most of these people are. They never take responsibility or fall on their sword in order to do the right thing. If my son acted like Geithner, for instance, I'd whoop his ass. Chris Whalen is an instructive counterexample. He's gone out of his way to do the right thing by putting out the right message, even if it costs him personally. I hope it pays off for him in the end, but he won't be working for the Obama administration anytime soon. (Sorry, I've gone off and started rambling. I'm just disgusted -- yet again -- by the weasel-like behavior of our public serpents [hat tip Ty Andros].)

I should add, based on recent comments, that people like AB and SellShort should be counted among the "adults" in the same sense. My father simply taught me to do better, as theirs probably did, than what I've seen out of the likes of Geithner and BB. I expect no less of my own son. And I want my country back, dammit. It's probably clear that I lean libertarian (anti-federalist?), but the rotteness and corruption are just so rank that our political problems transcend left and right (no revelation there), but they even transcend to some extent the tensions between libertarianism and modern liberalism. I used to live in very left-leaning Vermont, but the politics there are squeaky clean. I mean, immaculate. If you aren't honest and competent, you don't have a chance. And I much prefer that to the rotteness we see at the Federal level, despite my "ideology" or what have you. (Sorry, rambling again, but it's cathartic. I really, really want my country back. Thanks for giving us this forum, Daily Bail.)

Vermont is unique mostly because of the people...small government liberals...

Stephen Moore is the reason I put the clip up on the site...I don't know a ton about him either, but I really appreciate his message.

AS far as HR 1207...I watched a Kanjorski video on CNBC where he sad it NOW HAS 277 sponsors...

Yet it is still tabled in Barney Frank's committee...I am going to have to write about that...Unless James you want to write something about it, some kind of a status update on HR 1207 and why despite having 277 co-sponsors, Frank has it bottled.
