I normally don't report on the sordid side of Congressional life, but this was too good to pass up.  And I mean way too good.

In the November 2009 abstinence video, Jackson introduces Souder this way:

• "You've been a longtime advocate for abstinence education and in 2006 you had your staff conduct a report entitled 'Abstinence and its Critics' which discredits many claims purveyed by those who oppose abstinence education."

Notice in the clip around the 1-minute mark, Souder blurts out:

• "When we know that nothing works to prevent teen sex..."

So he admits that nothing works (becasue they're teenagers and teenagers are programmed by nature to copulate -- my words), but then he pushes abstinence some more, meanwhile he's having an affair with the woman interviewing him.

You gotta love this country, and our homegrown hypocrites. 

If you hadn't heard, Souder announced his resignation this morning.

Meanwhile, Richard Blumenthal is in trouble very close to primary day in New York as it was revealed that he lied about military service in Vietnam.  Smart move, Dick.
