i know ken thinks the us will break-up starting this fall when riots begin...but he originally predicted that for this summer and now he seems to be scaling it back...i don't think riots are coming at all personally, the sheeple are too busy with other important things...

if we still had a military draft, i could guarantee riots, but the pentagon solved that pesky problem long ago...seriously can you imagine college campuses today if the draft were happening...the way kids are wired these days...buildings would burn...would make the vietnam protests look like child's play...

Unfortunately, they have been using a backdoor draft called "stop loss" for years now, burning up the boys who did what they felt was the right thing, and then getting backdoored without a reach around.

Dr. Ron Paul attacked too now and we are getting to point by election time for nasty events

Dear Liberty Activist,
The FEC has launched a pair of investigations on Campaign for Liberty.

Both are meritless, but could seriously disrupt our growing program.

Please read Campaign for Liberty President John Tate's letter below and stand with us.

This is exactly the type of government action to quell liberty that I have spent my life opposing.

Sincerely,

Congressman Ron Paul

rest of the letter is very long

Economic events is what unleashed the bonus army, and made Patton and McArthur assholes who would put the bayonet point toward WW! vets. Butler was brilliant, and his career was brighter than the lap dogs, yet is not taught because he turned on the masters.

I agree. The problems in the U.S. are FAR greater than Greece's, yet not even a single ROCK has been thrown yet. Nor probably EVER WILL BE. Unless they're wearing government-issued uniforms and have the full backing of overwhelming firepower along with legal exemption from committing murder, it's simply NOT in Americans DNA to fight.

My dear friend screamed this:

There will be no revolution. Conditions will get worse, Obongo will shove some kind of “amnesty” down our throats, and the fed will create trillions more out of thin air for their bankster friends. They all disobey the laws we already have and nothing is done. No-one goes to jail. Americans will simply adjust to a much poorer lifestyle. We will increasingly walk with our heads down, shoulders slumped, and will comply with all govt edicts. “They” will have destroyed the finest people to ever exist, thus destroying the finest country ever to exist. Without firing a shot.

But have no doubt, change is coming, and it is still an open question if hell is also coming with it.

"Obama: Being American is 'not a matter of blood or birth'"

And we can probably add 'NOR LANGUAGE' to that list because there are SCORES of people who don't seem to speak it very well. Or AT ALL.

So THAT means that being American is 'not a matter of blood or birth NOR LANGUAGE'.

To which I ask; OK then, WTF IS being an American? (btw, NOT much of an exclusive club, are we now? Is being an American getting to be more like becoming a member of Blockbuster or Costco?)

History teaches us that before 1776, America was three European countries, England, France and Spain, along with hundreds of Indian nations.

After 1776 only technology made the dream of a unified country, from the east coast to the west coast, a possibility. Thomas Jefferson was considered a visionary Utopianist for thinking that Americas would populate the entire continent, even though he thought it would take a thousand years, as it did Rome.

Only technology made that pipe dream a reality.

Until the early twentieth century, immigration to America was always "illegal" in the sense that anyone could come who could get here and anyone could stay who survived economically. More than illegal, prisoners were sent here as punishment and indentured slavery was the norm.

Almost from the beginning immigrants were resented by native born and established Americans because they were willing to work for less pay than native born Americans. For example, everyone knows that "illegal" Chinese and Irish laborers built the railroads because native born Americans "refused to do that kind of work" (refused to work so hard for so little, that is.) And they were despised by the natives.

As a microcosm for what happened in the 19th century, during the California gold rush Mexicans were hunted down and killed and virtually all of them were driven out of the state by vigilantes. And the state of California literally put a price on the head of any Indian skull of 5 dollars a head. The official policy of the state of California in 1850 was, therefore, genocide against the native California Indians.

After the Civil War the Federal government became dominant over the state governments (the Supreme Court did not make the decisive decisions, Sherman and Grant did.)

After the Civil War, the oligarchy began to solidify its rule of America and they've gotten stronger every ten years or so, until today when we live under a barely masked oligarchy.

What old days? Squaw men living with Indian wives in the wilderness? Dust off those history books please. The good old days are not what some people here think they were.

I think it's implicit when people such as Ken think America is going to tumble down around our ears someday in riots and others talk about how our country gives us more opportunity (freedom) to attain our financial dreams of success and that we may soon lose that freedom.

The truth is, those opportunities only existed in various periods in American history for lucky, hard working people. The period from 1776 to about 1840 was such a period as Tocqueville observed.

Today, Americans live the American Dream more as an illusion than a reality. Check this somewhat too scholarly sounding report which is, nevertheless based on good observations with footnotes and a bibliography so you can check his sources: http://www.columbia.edu/~tad61/riches112805.pdf
Jul 2, 2010 at 1:34 AM | Unregistered CommenterJames Street
I suppose I should add that it seems to me (and many others both inside and outside the country) that America has already tumbled down around our feet and has been lying there for a long time, we just don't notice it for various complicated reasons.

So even if we fall, the drop can't be too far. I don't think we should worry too much except that it can be pretty depressing to face something that you've been denying for many years whether you are a person or a country.

Some people might even think our present dismal state is a cause for optimism because when you are so far down, there's hardly anywhere to go but up.

Ken, the Roman Empire fell after hundreds of years of decline and the Romans themselves didn't even notice, much like the fictional frog who is put in a slow boiling pot of water and by the time he notices the heat, he doesn't have the strength to jump out.

The fall wasn't a violent act, it was a whimper that nobody heard.

Americans and all other people of the world rarely revolt and even more rarely act as mobs who take over governments or tear things down. They are docile. Both the French and English revolutions were exceptions and were soon reversed and the mob was defeated and its leaders executed by the royal houses they toppled.

In fact, people almost always follow orders and almost never refuse to serve in the emperor's armies and kill whomever they are ordered to kill.

When Napoleon entered Russia in 1812 to free the serfs (90% of Russians at the time were slaves who lived in similar conditions to African American slaves) topple the absolute dictatorship of the Czar and to set up a republic in Russia, the Russian serf-slaves fought against him with animal ferocity and drove him out of Russia. They called him the Anti-Christ.

The same thing happened to Napoleon in Spain.

Napoleon wanted to invade England, topple the absolute dictatorship there (the king) and proclaim the American Constitution the law of England and set up an American style government there.

Napoleon has been hated by the English people ever since.

I was part of Movie making on this Young Man and Our Movie was censored and why? It destroys the myth of Gandhi getting Freedom for India. Had British not annexed Punjab, they would have ruled for very long time. Winston Churchill made these comments.

Sardar Bhagat Singh
1907 – 1931
Sardar Bhagat Singh is one of the early martyrs of India during India's freedom struggle. On April 8, 1929 Bhagat Singh and another revolutionary of his time put a bomb in the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi. Bhagat Singh was arrested and along with Rajguru and Sukhdev, hanged to death in Lahore Central Jail on March 23, 1931 one day before the appointed day i.e 24th March. On Bhagat Singh's martyrdom, Mahatma Gandhi said : "It has increased our power for winning freedom." Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru observed that Bhagat Singh and comrades, who showed 'magnificent courage and sacrifice', had been an inspiration to the youth of India. Bhagat Singh was a socialist and republican. He was full of sympathy for the labour. It was his conviction that India could be liberated through revolution. He was the first Indian revolutionary who shouted the slogan 'Inquilab Zindabad'. He edited two or three journals which carried the message of revolution.

Education is the key, not running at the herds waiving your arms and screaming. That only drives them faster to the edge of the cliff.

The object is to get them to turn away from the route to the cliff. And that is a daunting task.

"And friends, somewhere in Washington enshrined in some little folder, is a
study in black and white of my fingerprints. And the only reason I'm
singing you this song now is cause you may know somebody in a similar
situation, or you may be in a similar situation, and if your in a
situation like that there's only one thing you can do and that's walk into
the shrink wherever you are ,just walk in say "Shrink, You can get
anything you want, at Alice's restaurant.". And walk out. You know, if
one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and
they won't take him. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony,
they may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them.
And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in
singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an
organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said
fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and
walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

And that's what it is , the Alice's Restaurant Anti-Massacre Movement, and
all you got to do to join is sing it the next time it come's around on the
guitar."

Ron Paul: The War That’s Not a War
Submitted by LatinsforPaul on Sat, 07/03/2010 - 09:04
in War
The War That’s Not a War
by Rep. Ron Paul antiwar.com

Statement in the House by Rep. Ron Paul of Texas on funding the war in Afghanistan.

In January 1991, we went to war in the Middle East against Saddam Hussein, Iraq’s dictator who was our ally during the Iran-Iraq war. A border dispute between Kuwait and Iraq broke out after our State Department gave a green light to Hussein’s invasion.

After Iraq’s successful invasion of Kuwait, we reacted with gusto and have been militarily involved in the entire region 6,000 miles from our shores ever since. This has included Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. After 20 years of killing and a couple trillion dollars wasted, not only does the fighting continue with no end in sight, but our leaders threaten to spread our bombs of benevolence on Iran.

For most Americans, we are at war, at war against a tactic called terrorism, not a country. This allows our military to go any place in the world without limits as to time or place. But how can we be at war? Congress has not declared war, as required by the Constitution, that is true. But our Presidents have, and Congress and the people have not objected. Congress obediently provides all the money requested for the war.

People are dying. Bombs are dropped. Our soldiers are shot at and killed. Our soldiers wear a uniform; our enemies do not. They are not part of any government. They have no planes, no tanks, no ships, no missiles, and no modern technology. What kind of a war is this anyway, if it really is one? If it was a real war, we would have won it by now. Our stated goal since 9/11 has been to destroy al Qaeda.

Illinois facing 'outright disaster' amid budget crisis
'We are not paying bills for absolutely essential services ... that is obscene'Advertisement | ad info
.by MICHAEL POWELL

updated 7/3/2010 8:30:18 AM
Share Print Font: +-CHICAGO — Even by the standards of this deficit-ridden state, Illinois’s comptroller, Daniel W. Hynes, faces an ugly balance sheet. Precisely how ugly becomes clear when he beckons you into his office to examine his daily briefing memo.

He picks the papers off his desk and points to a figure in red: $5.01 billion.

“This is what the state owes right now to schools, rehabilitation centers, child care, the state university — and it’s getting worse every single day,” he says in his downtown office.

Mr. Hynes shakes his head. “This is not some esoteric budget issue; we are not paying bills for absolutely essential services,” he says. “That is obscene.”

For the last few years, California stood more or less unchallenged as a symbol of the fiscal collapse of states during the recession.

Now Illinois has shouldered to the fore, as its dysfunctional political class refuses to pay the state’s bills and refuses to take the painful steps — cuts and tax increases — to close a deficit of at least $12 billion, equal to nearly half the state’s budget.

Insolvency looms
Then there is the spectacularly mismanaged pension system, which is at least 50 percent underfunded and, analysts warn, could push Illinois into insolvency if the economy fails to pick up.

Even though the gap between executive and entry-level worker pay has shrunk ever so slightly in the past couple of years, it’s still not unusual for the CEO of a large public company to earn more per day than some of his employees earnover the course of an entire year.

Fifteen examples:

CVS Caremark (CVS)
Thomas M. Ryan: $30.4 million (2009 Compensation)
Starting Cashier: $8/hour, $20,800/year
One CEO = 1,461 entry-level employees

AT&T (T)
Randall Stephenson: $29.2 million (2009 Compensation)
Starting Sales Associate: $10/hour, $26,000/year
One CEO = 1,123 entry-level employees

Funny enough, today is the first day I did a search to see who was predicting things I"d been dreaming for years now. lol. I don't predict some doomsday prophecy like some do. I don't believe the world is coming to an end but I do believe our life style is in danger of being demolished. "It's the end of the world as we know it." Comes to mind. When a little gold and green come into the picture all hell seems to already break loose. Materialism in the world is what "drives" the world and without gold and green we can't gain materialistic desires. I personally hate that fact that the lifestyle we were all meant to have was deprived of us at birth for those who have to live in these times. Jobs in my area are so hard to find I've given up. When it takes more than a year with applications repeating themselves once weekly in some places, and phone calls to back them up are met with "I'm sorry but the position has been filled." upon every waisted cell phone minute it's just become redundant to continue any further.

Is this something we can live with? Knowing we're helping destroy the world by not speaking up and not doing anything? LOL! Come on. We all know what's happening, and speaking hasn't done any good for the handful of the population that's willing to stand up. However those of us who have when these things happen and all hell breaks loose are going to be swept up in the masses like everyone else unable to stop the flow.

2011, my dreams have been of riots. Some will start this winter if people can't afford to pay their electric bill and are freezing to death. Imagine yourself on unemployment if you were lucky enough to be eligible and now you are unfortunately screwed. No more checks for you USA! Apparently being broke and all the jobs being taken isn't the govt.'s concern. Now for a winter you freeze to death watch friends starve just to keep the heat on, or watch them sell everything and now they can't even take a shower without a debt so high they can't afford to pay. Bounced checks go a crossed the US in the form of millions of electric bouncy balls blocking all systems rather swiftly. lol. This is a problem because you can go to jail for bouncing checks and not paying them off. With this being said you have hundreds of thousands in tightly populated cities hudled up for warmth, breaking into banks, stores, you name it all in the name of survival. Should we arrest them because we made them this way? Nope. But we will and this will set millions off at once.

As soon as your best friend is hauled off to jail for doing what he had to do to get by for a few more days, you'll get angry enough to hurt someone too. And when that much tension rises it has to be released but with the government not fixing it and instead making it worse even hope is going to stop saving us from the breakout.

2011 will have riots if something isn't done now. And with the tax increases promised this means MIDDLE CLASS America is next on the list to be demolished! We're looking at now 16 million more people being forced into the job market TODAY. These people have got nothing left because the government was paying them after they lost their jobs. That many homeless citizens without help, and without hope...... now you say you're increasing taxes on the already tight budgeted "newly found" middle class who're living their lives, some for the first time, from paycheck to paycheck.

Add up this equation and tell me what you see isn't 2+2=4? Because everyone's arguments saying America will hold it's head low as the sheep they are...... doesn't look too promising. To me, that's them being given a death sentence that I cannot bare to see happen. The riots aren't going to be a good thing but I'd rather see that happen than to see these people just simply die off from starvation!

Think it over.

@PrinceStoneWolf

AMERICA has money for all the senseless wars, CIA, Home Security and all the spy satellites etc. ........ but not for their own living people .............. what does it say about the governments and the people you voted into congress??? Heartless beings are governing you all.
Now they want even dictate your food what you eat, grow, trade and share.

Be aware: A most dire bill is up before the U.S. Senate currently.

S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the US.

According to Dr. Shiv Chopra, “If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.”

It is similar to what India faced with imposition of the salt tax during British rule, only S 510 extends control over all food in the US, violating the fundamental human right to food."

WHAT DO YOU NEED MORE TO ACT???? SHARING OPINIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH ANYMORE!

@DB folks

English?lol

On a serious note, it's plain to see here that people are rightfully pissed off with elected office-holders. I feel that this country is fast becoming an oligarchy since votes can literally be bought through lobbying and "well-financed" campaigns.

Socialism has always been a bad word in this country, though it works in Skandinavia, and has for years. You don't see homeless people or horrendou crime there, and the citizens have a very high standard of living. There's nothing wrong with that system whatsoever, and when I hear people in this country speak ill of what other nations do - things that do serve society and not just a few at the top - it's disturbing because the negative opinions of more socially responsible systems usually come from people who've never traveled to places to see the differences (I lived in Sweden a short time, so I do have that experience).

There are so many problems plaguing the American people right now, I fear that all the quarreling amongst the citizens, the underhandedness and dishonesty by the corporations and the selfish desire by too many to stay in office will simple cause the ship to go down because everyone expects someone else to do something - the right thing - and it just isn't happening.

Final Rant:
"Why do some of you blame only the Republicans ? Do you have any idea what the Dems have done to weaken our economy? It is time that people stop seeing everything as party vs party and start to realize that it is both parties to blame. We are in for some real hard times. Prepare yourselves America. The world as you know it is about to change in rapid fashion. Soon many of you will wake up and realize that by supporting one party you supported a united agenda of corruption, but by then it will be too late, it already is. The economy is crashing. There is no stopping that. Prepare yourselves, mentally, physically and most importantly spiritually. Hard times are coming and the comfort and security that we have all taken for granted will be no more"

Guns listed on your 2010 tax return? The American state of tyranny is upon us and advancing rapidly.
http://www.fourwinds10.com/siterun_data/government/banking_and_taxation_irs_and_insurance/social_security/news.php?q=1257974447
Now 'all Guns' must be listed
On your next (2010) tax return!
Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun.
| This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24, 2009, by the Omama staff. BUT .. . This bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the new law becomes effective ! This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act o f 1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on it at all. Trust Obama ? ...... You must be kidding !

Ken,

SB 2099 has been a lie circulated since 2000, as with all legends, it starts with a grain of truth. It died in committee, as all bills do that cannot generate co sponsors.
