I just called Scott Brown's office (you all know I'm in Indiana most of the time, but I'm officially a resident of Mass.).

Anyhow, the poor child charged with answering the phones didn't know anything about how he plans to vote, and she wasn't even sure he would vote NO on the Financial Reform Bill itself, but she suggested...(wait for it)...that I call back AFTER the vote and then she might be able to tell me how he planned to vote. My goodness.

And apparently the poor thing is in the office all by her lonesome because there were NO staffers around to talk to me -- about ANYTHING. None. Not one. Zero. I finally asked, "Well, where is everybody?!" Staffer girl didn't know, but they're "you know, out...and, um, they're schedules are like really overloaded right now."

I thanked sweet thing for her time, apologized for giving her a hard time, and told her to have a good day. But good grief. Is this how it really works?

Next time I'm going to say I'm Warren Buffet.

Oh, sweet thing was apparently told to say that "he's reviewing the legislation right now, and is still working on how he's going to vote."

Yes, I pointed out to sweet thing that if he hasn't read the bill by now, it's probably a little late... but I guess I'm being a bit of a stickler about, like, you know, reading the bills or whatever.

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, a career U.S. Army officer being court-martialed for refusing to obey orders to deploy to Afghanistan, will appear with his attorney tomorrow night in a live interview on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ program.

Colonel Lakin, a flight surgeon who, until recently, was charged with caring for Army Chief of Staff General George W. Casey’s pilots and air crew, is refusing to deploy until President Barack Obama proves his eligibility under the Constitution to serve as president of the United States.
