i won't say who sent me this so as not to embarrass the person (it's not a regular)...but i just got this in an email...

---

Message: Thanks for the great postss from your site. Question! Did you ever read any posts from Christopher Story's site, worldreports.org? He mysteriously died in July 2010 but that site has archives since 2006 of everything posted, including Paulson being murdered in January of 2008.

I'd love your opinion -- one never knows.

---

here was my response...

are you fucking serious..?...then who is playing paulson these days...here's what it can't possibly be true, among other reasons...

paulson has a finger that is so fucked up from past football injuries at dartmouth...there are few people on this earth with a finger this mangled and grotesque...search for it in google images...it is crazy...

hank paulson is still alive and living fat and happy off his tax free $700 million...

steve

here is the paulson is dead story...

http://www.worldreports.org/news/109_henry_paulson_has_died_after_being_shot_in_the_chest_

there's even a video on youtube where a guy swears that paulson's image on TV these days is a hologram...i'll find that link...

Most curious email re Hank Paulson.

If I asked 100 people who Paulson is, I'd guess that 7 would correctly identify him as a former Treasury Secretary. The other 93 rely on television for information.

Now, out of those seven people, what source of information is one of them assimilating that would lead to the conclusion that the Hammer... died? Wtf?

I'd love a link or two, DB. Just sayin.

Anyone know why Jesse's site is up this morning but not Max and Stacy's? I thought both posted from Paris...

Compare http://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com/ with http://maxkeiser.com/

Also, has metal-hating Karl ever commented about Jesse before today?

I started following dailybail.com because of coverage of anything related to the bailout AND the quality of your coverage.

In other words, if I want to learn about conspiracy theories or speculate in gold I go somewhere else.

Also, I think the bailout scandal is important enough to dedicate a special site to it. Please stick to the topic!

Thanks!

Dang. So "Hank Paulson" turns out to be nothing but a hologram. And all this time I just knew he was a shape-shifting reptilian from Alpha Centauri.

Conflicting reports coming out of Cairo that people have looted police barracks and taken guns. Other reports that police had been seen LEAVING the main protest areas, looking defeated.
Jan 29, 2011 at 11:57 AM | Registered CommenterDr. Pitchfork
Other reports of soldiers in tanks being brought tea and snacks by the protesters. Some reports of protesters drinking tea with soldiers in the tanks.

Still other reports of soldiers arresting protesters in Suez (i.e. not Cairo).

Also, chants from some protesters that "the People and the Soldiers are Hand in Hand."

Ane the latest report is that citizens apprehended some of those so-called looters and discovered that they were card-carrying members of Egypt's secret police, deliberately attempting to subvert the revolution that is taking place there. This newsbite is brought to you, Courtesy Al-Jazeera Live.

Thanks for that update MH. I had been wondering about that. And yes, Al Jazeera kicks ass.

I don’t think now is the time to romanticize and glorify an Islamic youth movement to overthrow the hardline government of Egypt. More information is coming to the surface that the Obama administration has been actively supporting the Islamic youth movements over the past two years.

mh...don't count on it...only covering the bailouts is boring for me and for readers...you need to remember that some of us have been around here since day 1...you just appeared...this is our 26th month of existence...we can handle editorial decision making just fine thank you...only and explicitly covering the bailouts would leave us a very SMALL audience...this is an econ/finance blog...and here's a newsflash for you...econ blogs cover all kinds of related issues...

would you feel the same about telling yves, or calculated risk or mish what issues they should and shouldn't cover...?...we are going to have more than 600,000 unique visitors and more than 2 million total pageviews in january...numbers that are officially measured by Google Analytics by the way...and that makes us the #2 econ/fin site in the u.s. behind only zero hedge...so apparently, the content decisions that i'm making are working out ok...

readers enjoy a wide variety of stories...and they enjoy comedy and songs...i see the numbers...i know what resonates and what does not...i apologize for reacting this way, but you shouldn't tell another website publisher what to cover...when you want to make editorial decisions, it's time to start your own blog...and i can recommend Squarespace as a platform and hosting provider to get you started...

i am a kind person, but i don't take well to mandates...i gave up my life for this blog and give 14 hours a day to it 7/days per week...i KNOW exactly what it takes to succeed, draw and grow an audience...and let me tell you, it's not fucking easy...
Jan 29, 2011 at 3:18 PM | Registered CommenterDailyBail
@MH - and did you honestly say that i shouldn't cover 'gold stories'...are you freaking serious..?...
Jan 29, 2011 at 3:22 PM | Registered CommenterDailyBail
@mh...and this story from pitchfork..on egypt...the one that you're reading that you don't think i should be covering...this story has almost 3,000 hits since midnight last night...and it has been picked up by about 4 different websites who are linking to it here...in fact it has almost twice as many hits as any other on the front page since midnight...

you might owe dr. pitchfork an apology...he should be commended for finding it and taking time out of his friday night with his young family to show up here and put it all together for readers...

No apology needed for me. But I would point out the relevance of this story. One, it's partly an economic story -- autocratic, corporatist economy, PLUS rising commodity prices (thanks Uncle Ben!), are part of the immediate background to unrest in the Mediterranean. Two, this site has all along been premised on popular democracy and how to break the power and corruption of OUR OWN tone-deaf elites. To wit:

"Are you listening, President Obama? ... What we are doing in this country will make Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin roll over in their graves. ... It's time for another tea party!"

http://dailybail.com/home/the-mother-of-all-irony-playboy-magazine-targets-the-daily-b.html

The Egypt story is entirely relevant. And not that it matters, but Mish, Zero Hedge, Karl Denninger and others have covered it in much the same terms as we have.

hell yes it's relevant...and full of intense human emotion...one of the most moving videos i've seen in months...given the unrest that percolates below the surface here in the u.s., this is a perfect story..it was a great find, pitch...

I see Mubarak's guards are putting on a show for the MSM

http://allisonkilkenny.com/2011/01/about-those-looters/

So Egypt's revolution will seem like a bunch of criminals. Just like the Greek riots, portrayed by the MSM as a bunch of lazy entitled socialists. All I see conservatives do is make excuses for the destructors of the US, blaming the victims as they have those who are losing their homes to foreclosure. If the borrowers never borrowed what they couldn't pay back, they deserve to be evicted, right? It's the enitled, those who dare stand up for their rights, that make a change. Those that think the free market will save them are slaves to their delusions, that profit is a noble goal and corporations will not trample them without regard to political affiliations. How deluded can thinking be? Niemöller was right. Divide and conquer in it's finest moment.

How sad because what they despise is what they've bought.

Thugs looting residential neighborhoods and intimidating civilians are government-hires, say eyewitnesses.

In Nasr City, an Eastern Cairo neighborhood, residents attempting to restore security told Al-Masry Al-Youm that looters were caught yesterday.

“They were sent by the government. The government got them out of prison and told them to rob us,” says Nameer Nashaat, a resident working alongside other youths to preserve order in the district. “When we caught them, they said that the Ministry of Interior has sent them.”

19 private planes arrive in Dubai from Egypt

People on the streets are reporting that 19 private planes have left from Cairo International to Dubai even though traffic at airport had been halted. There is a lot of speculation of who is in the planes from members of the Mubarak's government to Mubarak himself. Dubai is reporting confirmation of the arrival of these private planes from Cairo. They are reporting businessmen are using these private planes to flee the country.

Some confirmation:reports that (now) former NDP part thug & Gamal Mubarak confidant Ahmed Ezz has fled Egypt in a private jet.
