I admire the Senator for making a symbolic point about the debt and deficit. In the end, the political flack was too much for Republicans to bear and they forced Bunning to cave. Yes, Bunning supported the same when Bush was in charge, and so I agree it was hypocritical.
But who are we to argue and complain when a Senator chooses to make a public relations stand against greater deficit spending. So I won't.

An excellent series of articles on former NBA great Dave Bing, now Detroit Mayor, as he struggles to remake the dying city. His battle with spoiled and stubborn public-employee unions demonstrates the insanity and corruption that exists everywhere. It's an epidemic of budget-busting promises to public employees and lavish pensions at taxpayers' expense. Time to bust contracts.

Considering this news from late yesterday, I decided to build a video tribute.

Anyone else remember Paulson's assurances in the Spring and Summer of 2008 that Fannie & Freddie were completely fine and adequately capitalized.
