Liberalism, and its associated politically correct discourse, has evolved over 300 years from the theology of the original Puritan theocracy established in New England in 1620.

The evolution from theocracy to secularism in America was a very long process in America which finally resulted in the United States Constitution and the wall it erected between church and state.

Our real assurance that this wall will never disappear, is the extreme religious pluralism in America. Conservative Jews, Muslims and Christians such as Catholics and Mormons, would love to see the return of theocracy to America, their OWN theocracy. Lucky for us, each theocracy is hostile to all the others and so they cancel each other out.

20th century Liberalism developed in the 19th century from the same Puritanism, and produced the anti-slavery movement, the right of women to vote, prohibition and the Civil Rights movement.

After World War II, liberalism was refined by theologians such as Paul Tillich, Karl Barth and Bishop Pike but the political radicalism of the 1960's rejected Liberalism as at best irrelevant and at worst an embarrassment to enlightened thought.

Theologians have gone underground but they are still active as Liberals.

Cardinal Spellman, Reinhold Niebuhr and many other religious thinkers became reactionary conservatives in the same manner as the apparently orthodox Jewish talk show host, Dr. Laura Schlessinger.

It seems clear that conservative theocracy can never become dominant in America again but Liberalism is more insidious because it is a disguised, hypocritical form of (secularized) religion that tries to persuade, not with reason and facts but, just as other religions to, by repetition of slogans and formulas and by labeling dissenters as heretics:

"homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex nude model, teabagging, supporter of violence against women" ...

Liberals do not think, but push politically correct agendas decided on by various theological authorities, who pontificate from (in the case of Liberalism) universities, liberal religious organizations and think tanks.

It's clear that we need to create a discourse that is free from the distortions of our superstitious, doctrinaire past. The Internet is one of our great hopes.

The 1960's were loud and raucous but the Internet revolution taking place today is more profound and significant.

Don't allow the dinosaur, mainstream media, to dominate your thought and perceptions. You are creating a new world. Succeed in it.  Keith Olbermann is successful in the old one.
