Satirical Gold: Bailout Comedy Video From The Onion: Is It Time To Close The National Money Hole?

Financial satire at its finest.  The video runs 2 minutes.

Update: This clip was originally posted a few months ago.  It's one of the best bits of financial comedy we've seen to date.

Is it just a coincidence that, before it grows, a mustard seed must be placed in a hole?
@debt outlaw inside the buy-side

How can we trust our citizens to properly destroy the money.

They should do more of these videos. Much better than Onion articles.

Holy liquidity drain, Batman! Can any of you financial geniuses explain this? It purports to show that Bernanke *deliberately* drained liquidity from the system at the very moment when it looked like "The Bailout" might not pass the Congress.

http://www.denninger.net/letters/bernanke-drain.pdf

Remember, we know two things about Ben Bernanke. 1). He is a life-long student of the Great Depression and believes that the trigger was the Fed's stinginess in providing liquidity. 2). We know from Neel "The Execution Guy" Kashkari that Bernanke and Paulson had been looking to pass a big bailout plan since March, just as soon as the political conditions seemed favorable.

WTF?

BTW, we should probably assume that Bubbles' co-pilot over at the FRBNY, Turbo, was directly involved in this, whatever "this" might have been. Then, too, what was Robert Rubin's role in this? Hmmmm. Did he and Turbo have breakfast together that week? Maybe lunch, too. (Question: Can you do a FOIA request for phone records at the NY Fed?)
