Politico broke the story about an hour ago.  Bail world headquarters has been in celebration mode with adult beverages, dancing girls and low 'fives' for 59 minutes.

One of the true, captured, Capitol Hill  scumbags is on his way out the door after a 30-year career built on the sturdy foundation of Father Nepotism as well as tens of millions in career campaign contributions (bribes) from Wall Street investment banks.

More coming shortly; I've got a drink to finish.

New video on the way from Dodd earlier this year that will have you stoked for his departure.

Update: Found the clip (below); the dish is Jane Hamsher, founder of Fire Dog Lake.

Democrats lose Byron Dorgan (actually one of the few Democratic voices of sanity on debt and deficit issues) and Captured Christopher in a span of 12 hours.

Realistically, it could help the DEMs because Schiff would have crushed Dodd, and now they at least have a fighting chance with popular state AG Richard Blumenthahl, a Spitzer style crusader.

And given his record, we begin the countdown to Dodd's inevitable move to K Street where a 7-figure job lobbying his former committee most assuredly awaits.

In an interview on March 6 in his office on Capitol Hill with Jane Hamsher and Marcy Wheeler of FDL, Chris Dodd -- Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee -- promised to ask the Fed which banks they are lending to.

On January 13 of this year, Fed Vice Chair Donald Kohn refused to answer Rep. Alan Grayson when he testified before the House Financial Services Committee when asked to name the banks that the Fed was lending to.

According to Bloomberg, the Fed has now lent, spent or $12.8 trillion dollars. There is no federal agency with the authority to exert oversight of the Fed.
