1933 News Reel: Inflation Will Be The Nation's Salvation (Video)

'Inflation' news reel from 1933.  Moviegoers were informed that a wonderful new concept called inflation would rescue the country from the Great Depression.  It's one of Bernanke's favorites and was produced soon after we moved from the gold standard.  You gotta watch at least some of this if only for the comedy.  My dog even enjoyed it.  When the cows 'moo-ed' at least.

I had seen this video on lewrockwell or maybe at theaustrianeconomists back in January or February. A week later I saw an inflation-deflation segment on the evening news (forget which network). The 2009 propaganda (inflation is swell!) was just as hokey and just as wrong as this Depression-era stuff.

The eerie thing is that with about 1:30 left, the film shows how in 1933 the dollar dropped, while stocks and commodities went up, just like they have since March of this year. Green shoots! Are we in for ten more years of this crap?

Dylan Ratigan talks to K. Olbermann about his new show and about the bailouts.

If you can stomach Olbermann, Bristol Palin and teen pregnancy, there's some nice little nuggets here. Ratigan reveals that he's still pretty pissed about the bailouts and the runaway spending (with MY CHILDREN'S MONEY), and he also makes it clear that you can't just blame the Republicans for any of this. I was never a big fan before The Bailouts, but he's definitely one of the good guys. Smart, too. I'm looking forward to the new show.

What an amazing example of ruthless propaganda spread by the ruling class against the everyday man.

This work of lies fails to explain what would cause wages and employment to rise.

We know from historical fact that civilian unemployment remained the same from the time FDR took office through entry into World War II. Thus, it's clear that the inflation experiment of the 1930s failed.

We know from historical fact that the inflation experiment of the 1970s failed.

Now ask yourself why anyone would want to repeat failed experiments?
